While never using one of Way's engine.
He (the company) has an impeccable record within the Mini community and I wouldn't have any problem using any product or service he provides.
Agreed on Way's personal and his business's professional reputation here. He is semi-active on this forum, so I'd suggest either sending him a message or maybe setting up a phone call appointment to discuss your needs and concerns. I'm a long distance from any MINI specialist shops and envious of those whom are closer geographically to WMW's shop and are able to use them as their preferred go-to shop.
I do know that way motor works is a very reputable company there is just no information or figures / power numbers to work with off of the specific built engines also I am in Idaho so no shops are near me
I understand your hesitation on buying a built engine. It’s a big expense, especially when it’s the life of the car. Their website says to call for current pricing. If you are in the market, I would give them a call and ask about the engine build specs and expectations. If they are open about what they do and what to expect, and it fits your budget, go with it. If not, there are other options and paths. Detroit Tuned also builds engines, and could be a second option.
