Drivetrain Conversion to Cooper GT
Conversion to Cooper GT
Hi All,
New member. I have a 2008 mini clubman cooper r55.
I need a new exhaust from downpipe back.
I have bought a stainless steel 2.5 inch (63mm) bore cooper s exhaust with the 2 exhaust pipes on either side of the rear of the car.
i am planning to fit this to my cooper. It is easy to adapt for second exhaust exit as hanger bolts already in situ and can reuse hangers from large standard muffler box and will cut the black lower rear skirt to accommodate..
I have jacked the car up and found the 2.5 inch manifold flange on the new cooper s exhaust is larger in diameter than the cooper (I'd say 2.5 inchs to 2 inchs) downpipe and hence the 2 do not mate up.
Seems the solution is to change the downpipe from a cooper to cooper s. I need to retain the cat for mot tests.
Welcome anyones thoughts?
