Big shout out to Lorenzo/RPM Tune here in B.C. Canada. The guy is the best, He is passionate about what he does and does outstanding work. If you haven't checked out his big turbo kit, billet intake manifold and valve cover check them out they are unreal. Went for a ride in his car last week over 400 HP on the chassis dyno, hang on to your hats, that thing cook's!! Anyway, got my project together, JCW pistons, rebuilt JCW turbo, Ceramic coated hot side turbo, JCW exhaust manifold and catless downpipe, head work by Hayward Performance, Supertech valve springs, Wavetrack LSD , car had a manic tune in it, ran ok, but not great. Took it out to Lorenzo, loaded up a stage 3, now it really comes alive, better all the way through the RPM range, 17PSI on lower tune, sport button bolts it up to 21 psi and a lot more responsive. It was burning over 11 liters/100kms on Manic, on RPM coming home 8 liters/100km's, best of both worlds. Burned an M3 on the highway, he was flat out but he had to pull over and let me by, he looked shocked. Too funny! RPM has their tuning down pact, I highly recommend their product.
I've been trying to visit RPM Canada for quite awhile, want to tie a visit in with a vacation in the Canadian Rockies. Now with borders closed, who knows when, maybe next spring.
My dyno lack of knowledge catches up with me --- does a chassis dyno read BHP or WHP. Either way, 400 is a bunch, not many of us in that range!
Bunch of questions on your build --- do you have a build thread, pics, etc? Interested in the oil cooler too --- source, install difficulty? Dyno results?
No build thread, basically a JCW engine refresh, super tech valve springs, head work porting etc. done by Hayward performance here in Vancouver, wavetrack LSD, new clutch, rebuilt JCW Turbo, upgraded JCW exhaust manifold, decatted downpipe, I had all the exhaust parts ceramic coated, including turbo hot side. G-Plus oil cooler, easy enough to install, hard to find the rite spot for the cooler, still might move it up front in front of the A/C condenser, for now I have routed the lines under the transmission, in the narrowest part of the bell housing, I had to make some custom brackets to hold the lines up in close, mounting the oil cooler on top of the power steering rack in front of the firewall, will wire in some 12 volt computer fans and piggy back them off the radiator fan. I also installed an H&R front sway bar (27mm) Car already had H&R coil overs and rear sway bar, all the JCW body and interior bits, JCW exhaust, OZ super Turismo wheels. If you get a chance to install a bigger sway bar up front do it, no down side as long as you have LSD, car corners super flat, no body roll at all. Pulls nice over the entire RPM range, 21 PSI rock solid, very happy with the way it turned out, no dyno run yet, as long as I'm over 250HP I'm Happy, just want a nice reliable driver/autoX/track day car. Also found a JCW sport wing, that should set it apart from the crowd as far as looks go. Even Lorenzo(RPM) was surprised how the car handled and performed with the heavier sway bar up front, he's looking at installing one on his crazy ride.
