Stage 2 fuel - What is everyone running?

I am thinking about getting a stage 2 tune and wondering what fuel everyone is running? I know they state 91 octane or above. Is there any harm in 87-89 or would I have problems?

93 with 4 gallons of E85.

Regardless of whether it's tuned it or not, you really should stick to the 91 or above guideline.

When I was Stage 2 I only ran 93. Never experimented with E85 mixes. I also invested in a methanol kit to give myself a safety zone on the octane.

^^^ This. You shouldn't even be considering stage 2 if you're not already running a higher octane fuel.

Non stage 2 run 93 almost all the time. I do every once in awhile do 2 gal e85/then fill rest of way with 93, that’s why it’s not all the time.

In my opinion if you choose to tune the only fuel you must tune it for is 97++.
Actually i wouldnt go for something less than 100+ octane booster but for daily use octane booster might be pain in the ***+money..
So go for the highest amount of octane you can find at your nearby gas stations.

^All of the above^ The best premium high octane fuel you can buy in your area and/or the octane fuel your car was tuned for.

Turbo/Super charged cars don't do well on low tier fuel.

I don’t get why people try to save pennies with gas, ok more like a dollar or two. My gas cap says 91 min. And she is going to get 93 or an e85/93 blend. Spend all this money to go stage 2 then skimp on gas, this to me makes no sense.

Thanks for the input, I apologize if my question seemed dumb. I am totally new to Minis and I am loving them so far, now time to start doing a little modding.
