Check engine light with muffler delete

2019 Mini Cooper s F 57 Thinking of replacing my muffler with a short straight pipe. Anyone have trouble with a check engine light from a muffler delete?

You should have no problems, there’s no sensor after main cat. I have a f55 with decat, resonator and secondary cat delete and not a single problem.

Thumbs up Muffler delete followed by JCW pro exhaust and tune, with SAR bike rack option

For what it’s worth I feel like I have completed my exhaust saga. I have a 2019 Mini Cooper S convertible with the factory SAR bike rack option and standard transmission. I initially tried to go with the JCW pro exhaust system, but the dealership could not install it with the SAR bike rack option until they heard back from BMW. So I brought my little red car home and had the local muffler shop very economically cut off the muffler and install a straight pipe. Sounded good but the drone was not pleasant on a trip. The dealership called me after a couple of months and said they had heard from BMW/MINI and now could install the JCW Pro kit. So I bit the bullet and had them install the JCW Pro exhaust and tune. Yes it is expensive, but I feel like I have finally got it “right”. Sounds good with the valve open. If I get tired of it I hit the switch and it get’s quieter. For whatever reason with my 65 year old ears I do not detect a drone now with the valve open or closed, like I did with the muffler delete. My car no longer sounds like a sewing machine, which it did with the stock MCS exhaust. I can now shift better , hearing and feeling the rpms. The tune also makes it more zippy - about 19 hp more zippy - not wild and crazy zippy, but more zippy. As to the exhaust sound with the valve open, it is not incredibly loud - but pleasantly loud with nice loud pops. With the valve open the JCW pro exhaust is basically a resonator and straight pipe if you look at the pictures online. Why it does not drone like it did with the muffler delete only I do not know. So I got what I was looking for - to my ears it sounds like a sports car should with the valve open. It is more zippy. And yes it was expensive ($1760.40). But overall I am glad I spent the money on the JCW pro exhaust and tune. If anyone would like to talk to me about it feel free to pm me or respond to this and I can email my phone number to discuss it. Just had a great afternoon driving Push Mountain Road in Arkansas with the top down carving the curves. This is a great little car!!!

i would love to go for the same as you but it cannot be done in the uk due to the annoying gpf/ppf filter.
glad you got the sound you were after tho.
the only option i have is to have the obd flashed and bring back the pops and burbles but it will affect my warranty so its a no go from me.
