What few links I had on SilverSonic are now defunct, or have been re-routed... These are still valid... She was/is running 25lbs of boost, mostly to explore the limits...

sorry i did not intend for it to sound that way.

so the kit seems like it was a one off deal.

From BlueThunder (PROMINI employee) over on MINI2:

"As far as breaking things! Yes, things do break, no doubt. But once something breaks, that's information we need to make the next generation of parts for our customers. We have run this car at 25 psi of boost. Believe me it's quite a hand full. The purpose of both of these cars is to see where the limits are for this vehicle."

It seems that the intent was not to produce a kit per se, but see how much our MCS's can take...

Last time I spoke to Al @ BMP he was awaiting the first set of manifold/ducting from Supersprint. I believe the original intent was to offer it as a kit but maybe its been killer. Give Al a call and ask him!?

Good luck getting a turbo to make a 1.6L have a torque curve anywhere near as useable as this:

Any turbo kit will either deliver modest amounts of boost with little lag or lots of boost with lots of lag.

I agree with Andy.... "Twin" is the answer, as in:

Twincharger or a Twinscrew SC.

Heck, what would we call a twincharger system where the SC is a twinscrew?

Twinscrurbo?

Even though the compound supercharged concept seems complicated, it's actually simpler than the typical turbocharger kit for a n/a vehicle. The intake path from the throttle body through the supercharger through the intercooler doesn't need to be touched.

Expensive indeed! If there is one guy who I can see doing that combo, it would be El Diablito Rojo-N20MINI. Money seems not to be an issue for that guy .

ok this is just what i think prove me wrong? ok take the mcs engine 1.6 4 banger ok simple engine.ok take a honda 1.6 b16a 4 banger.ok now the mini has been out sence 02 so the engine is allmoast 3 years old.ok take the b16 correct me if im wrong the crx in japan had the b16 sence 1988.the engines seem kinda close as for a match well kinda.superchargers are old technology.turbos have been proven to produce much more hp.back in the day ya superchargers were the in thing till nitrous. then people came out with motec, aem, hondata computers then turbos took off.worlds fastest engines use turbos

hondas
supras
pro street cars

and everytime i have seen someone make a twin charge thing it seems to not work as well as one power adder.it just seems if the worlds fastest cars use only turbos what makes the mini engine so diffrent from them?????????????????

The difference is that this is mainly about street cars, not race cars. . If you're building a high rpm, narrow powerband turbo drag car, thats a different story. Honda technology doesnt apply here. This is an iron block, low reving, SOHC motor with no variable timing... not even remotely like a B16 or a K20. The advantage of twincharging is that you gain the benefits of each system which gives you WIDE powerband, more suitable for street driving.

Here's a Honda turbo with a nice wide powerband:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1706240

... as long as you bump up the idle to 6K RPM.
