After having the stupid green gasket for the supercharger leak for the third time, I finally mustered up enough nerve try to build a better solution. I might have been a little overly ambitious, but I figured there's no harm in trying. Took about a month or two messing around in the workshop, but I've finally finished my DIY AGS mark 1. Please don't sue me M7 for using your part name, I don't plan on ever selling these. Not the prettiest, but it works:
I have no idea if I got any gains from it and I haven't really gotten a chance to really step on it while driving yet. I'm still making sure theres no vacuum or coolant leaks before I give it the full beans. I will say it sounds amazing though. You can hear the thottle opening/closing and even at part throttle the supercharger sounds louder. If I can figure out how to take a video clip without too much wind noise I'll post it.
It's made from fiberglass and parts from the hardware store and took very mininal skills to make. To be honest I've never even made anything from fiberglass before attempting to make this. I spaced the radiator forward a hair to give me some more clearance and prevent any rubbing. I also had to reroute the coolant line to behind the throttle body. If anyone has a better solution besides flex coolant line, I'd be happpy for any suggestions. I'm worried it may be a spot for an air bubble to get trapped, but it hasnt been an issue yet. If anyones interested I could post pictures that I took through out the build process.
