OS Giken flywheel bolts

OS flywheel requires the OEM bolt to be shortened, does anyone know if there is an alternative bolt doesn't need to be fabricated? Thanks

Newer OSG's do not require shorter bolts. I've put 12,000 miles on my OSG twin with factory bolts. No trimming or modification required. Still a good idea to always measure and turn by hand before installing a cover plate regardless of who makes it.

I just bought the STR series, it's the 1st shipment after the national backorder, believe it's recent produced. Do you know if OEM bolt will fit? I haven't taken the OEM flywheel out yet, think to do it until I can find out a clear answer.

OEM should fit with no issues. ARP bolts were known not to fit as they are longer than stock. When I installed mine I put a bolt though the flange and counted the threads protruding, then counted the threads in the crank flange and looked at the clearance behind the flange. There was plenty of room left. I still pulled the plugs and rotated it by hand though because I had no intention of having to pull that apart again. Measure twice, cut once as it were.

When I bought my STR about 6 years ago, it came with new bolts 'cause they were shorter. If they no longer supply new bolts, do a couple revs by hand to ensure clearance.

reached out to OSG, customer service confirmed the OEM bolt should bolt on w/o any modification. Ordered new bolts today, I will measure the thickness for the oem and os flywheels.

Correct and they no longer ship the kits with bolts. The original design was thinner at the flange attach to save weight but redesigned because of the bolt clearance issues. I had wanted to use ARP's for mine but I didn't feel like grinding on a heat treated bolt. I wonder if ARP has corrected their length now.
