R53 6SPD CLUTCH / PP Paring ...
So my cooper is a daily driver. That said I like performance yet durability (aint diving into a clutch replacement unless I really have to). I will be hitting all the other things too whilst I have the front end totally torn apart.
so for me to keep costs down I plan my parts list buy what I need over time then BAM done per say. back in the day VW's I ran a 2200lb p/p 9.75 lb flywheel and a decent disc I vaguely remember getting a short throw clutch pedal but I might be reaching a bit, basically, im looking for a grippy clutch that will last with average driving, touring curvy roads, and on occasion taking it to the 8,s . Any help would be welcomed so I use a good, better, best, scenario when it comes to $$$ depending on the need it will dictate the price so I'm game for all prices If it gets my end result. Sporty racer road warrior that farts on Subaru wrx (ps they don't like my mini )when I feel like it...
Again thanks in advance,
Larry B... thelarness

The Exedy Hyper Single is my favorite all rounder, it's not overbearingly grippy and has near stock pedal feel while giving you a much better driving feel and power application.
You could look into the OS Giken as well, but in my opinion you have to drive a week in traffic before you can tell me you are okay with it in your DD, and in my opinion the Giken is just a bit much for most folks (myself included some days) in day to day life.
We have quite a few customers who are running Valeo SMF conversions that also track their cars occasionally, the Valeo will take moderate track use.
As for a parts list while you're in there:
Powerflex front control arm bushings
Possibly a front sway bar and bushings (if yours is swollen and bushings are destroyed)
Possibly powersteering feed/return lines (if they're leaking)
Any ball joint/ tierod components that may be worn
Rear main seal
Throw out bearing guide tube
Possibly shifter counter weight
Slave cylinder

We have had much success with the Valeo kit and very cost effective

But we have also had good feedback on the South Bend kit

If the budget allows a Quaife is ideal to add a diff that will get the power to the ground while being reliable and not ruin your daily drive as it's smooth.

Then while doing the job a set of powerflex control arm bushings will be easy

Always do the guide tube with the clutch
