2004 Mini Cooper S Oil Leak?

Hey guys, recently bought a project car with a blow supercharger, currently looking at replacing the supercharger, i noticed the back end of the engine is oily and greasy, thick grime also see wet oil spots on the oil pan bolt heads, as well as other areas on the back of the motor, is there a common area that these motor leaks ? i cant pinpoint where its leaking from, its like a drip every few minutes. i can get some pics to post up if thatll help. thanks

the valve cover gasket does give way, that may be the source for some of the oil.

In my experience, most common reasons for wetness on the BACK of the motor are CV axle boots, and oil cooler. Lots of complaints from oil pan gasket, but never had issues myself.

If you're actually dripping, and not just wet, cross off the CV boot. My guess is the oil cooler gasket. That should be easy to verify.

The whole engine is an OIL Leak......Oil Pan, Valve Cover, Oil Filter Housing, Crank Sensor O-ring, OIL Cooler,The seal behind the Crank Sprocket, there's one more I don't know the name of, but it's a seal for a sensor at the top of the engine under the top motor mount, oh, and while you're there replace the O-rings for the covers you remove to replace the Timing chain guides...... After that, you should be good to go

Pelican Parts have some great how-to's with pictures on their site, and no, you don't have to remove the engine to get to the oil cooler. There are also tons of video's on YouTube.

Modmini has a video on changing the oil filter gasket. He works from the bottom and the top, I might want to remove the passenger side tire as well.
