New to Mini, 02 DS R53 MCS 6spd manual in Oregon

So I was looking for a new fun car for a while. I've had modified GTI's, impreza's and vw bugs. I was looking for something that was good on gas and fun to drive. The MCS was a perfect choice. I already ordered a set of koni yellows, which will go on this week and will get a set of TSW springs when they are available. I am interested in meeting up with other mini owners in Oregon, preferably in the Willamette Valley, for spirited drives and such. I looked at some of the club forums but haven't seen much activity. I will continue to modify the mini, suspension first, then brakes and finally more power. Are there any mini track days in the NW? I used to do rallycross with a modified 96 impreza and would love to take the mini out on a track. I would also like to hear what other people in the PNW are using for suspension and what hasn't worked. Thanks.
