Stay away from ALTA performance

Bought an access port from them in like '13 and about a year later totaled my car. A few years later, I got the unit reset by Cobb so that I could sell but they do not have access to ALTA's tunes, so I called ALTA hoping to get the maps for the S model since mine was a JCW. Asked very nicely if he could send me copies of the last mappings they had for S and JCW so that I could sell the unit as updated as it possibly could be. Told many times "we do not have the maps", come to find out they DO have copies, they are just unwilling to send them to customers who paid for their product. I believe that I am entitled to the maps that came with my device at the very least, but also any updated maps that I would have gotten before they started to go under. It took me like 3 years to get them to admit that they have the files, but simply will not send them out, even to people who purchased the unit. He basically told me to go **** myself while being too much of a coward to just come out and say it, so I then went ahead and showed him how you tell someone to go **** themselves.

Overall very rude and obnoxious.

DO NOT BUY FROM ALTA. They are basically defunct and out of business and unwilling to support their products.

I was able to obtain the maps from Cobb. It took them a great effort to retrieve these so I wanted to post them here for anyone who might need them.

I don’t think it’s fair to judge a complete company based upon one incident. Plus, you are attempting to resell their product and make your money back. If you are reselling it, why do you care if it has the updated maps? Let the next owner worry with getting the updated maps from Alta. It sounds like you trying to use the updated maps as a marketing ploy to make more money and you want Alta to help you do that for free.
I think if you would have just requested the maps and not told them you were selling the unit, you may have received a difference response.

Another example of why Alta doesn't have a good name.

While I found their lack of support for the AP a bit disappointing, I bought mine a couple years after it had been discontinued. I can't say I expected anything different.

Also from my understanding, the AP has both set of maps saved but will display either S or JCW depending on what it is connected to. It seems like your effort was unnecessary.
