Stay away from Advantage Autobody
A few weeks ago I got into a fender bender and needed to get my car fixed. I was pressed for time and needed to get the car fixed while I was out of town. I went to Advantage Autobody and they gave me an estimate for $1100 which sounded about right. John Munce the production manager told me it might be a little more once they remove the bumper. Keep in mind the hood wasnt damaged and he even said it while making the estimate. Well I had the car dropped off and picked up. The estimate went from $1100 to $2600?!?!! I took a look at what they did and they repaired and refinished the hood?? Why? I was told they found damage once under the light......they also said they replaced the bumper bracket.........turns out they didnt. They replaced the front bumper cover but tightened the bolts to the point they cracked it. I was so furious I called State Farm.....keep in mind they are a preferred shop for state farm. I had the car inspected and they confirmed my concerns. I am going to make sure they lose the preferred status.
What really irks me is that if a person doesnt know any better they would have been ripped off. These guys are defrauding people. Here are some pix. #1 is a comparison of the bumper mount. Mine on the the left a non damaged on on right. Pix#2 is of the crack as a result of over tightening. The other side looks the same.

What they did was probably illegal. File a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair: http://www.autorepair.ca.gov/stdpage...TextOnly=False
