Drivetrain Metal coolant expansion tank for R56
#2
The second gen coolant tanks don't really have the problems like the first gen tanks did, so the only real benefit would be the looks of the alloy tank.
If it's looks you're after then I'd say do as you please, but it's not going to be of much benefit IMO.

Its an oil change thing. Ive already replaced the OEM tank once. I should start changing my own oil I guess, cause the dealer techs" man handle" the plastic tanks and its just a matter of time before it will leak again at the bottom hose fitting. Perhaps this metal tank has dimensions that will allow oil filter removal without having to move coolant tank out of the way?

There is an updated hose to alleviate the leaking at the bottom of the tank when doing an oil change, we have them on the shelf, heck of a lot cheaper than the tank.

I wanted to dress up my engine bay and, after dealing with a faulty expansion tank on my R52, I wanted to eliminate a potential weak point, so I went with the Forge unit. It is a beauty.
