Drivetrain OBD-II cable for diagnostics
OBD-II cable for diagnostics
I want to get a OBD cable to do the MTH chip upgrade but i also want to be able to use it for diagnostics on my car... What cable and software would i need to get to do this?
I was just about to make a similar post... I'll be interested to hear what others say.
I have Alex Peper's OBD software and cable (http://www.obd-2.com/), which I've used on my Volvo for a couple of years now. Anyone know if an OBD cable of this sort will work for the MTH upgrade?

I also have been on the lookout for an OBD tool. A few of the ones I am interested in are:
http://www.auterraweb.com/
and
http://www.autoenginuity.com/index.html
I like these because you can use them on a PDA (I am undecided on a Palm or a hand held PC) and they both have a dyno program for HP, torque, 1/4 mile times etc.
The Vag-Com one looks really cool too. Hopefully they will make on for the MINIs soon.
On a side note, does anyone know what the thing in the OBD cover is for?
