Hello, I am relatively new to this forum and have an 02 Cooper S with just an intake atm, next "big" mod I was going to do was a Pulley, but I live in Florida (for reference, Xmas here was 88 degrees) so what Pulley would be best?

 

You'll be just fine with a 15 or 17% pulley. The 15 is very close to a stock JCW. I run a 15% with a +2% crank pulley and have been fine. I live in eastern California (kinda close to Death Valley) and see all kind of temps (0º to 110º+)

You want the 15% as it will have lower intake temps at higher rpm than say a 16 or 17%. This is the most common size pulley and even what we run on the race car.

Well since you're probably the southernmost dealer, and closest to Florida's heat, I'll take your word, and buy your product.

 

Pretty sure Way has a package deal with the pulley, belt and plugs. That is what I did with my R53. Had some 104 degree days here and no problems.

 

Well considering I have 2 grand in hand thanks to trading my mazdaspeed6 for this mini (plus the 2k on their side, hence how i got it in the first place) I'll probably just get the Street Performance package, as that also includes an intake and catback, on top of the supercharger pulley and belt, so I'd be nearly done with bolt ons before (eventually) going into internals like 1.7 Big Bore Kit, 80mm Pistons, Rods, Cam, 1.8L Crank, etc. (Goal is a reliable 200whp at 7k, but can't go wrong with stronger internals to hold said 200whp rather then going as high as like 300whp at 8k and risking reliability)

Several paths for 200 WHP. If you went with a different cam, bigger fuel injectors and a tune, you could be close to that power range without having to pull the head. On my JCW, I put a RMW Dominator cam, 450 injectors and a RMW Tune. I did not go with a header that is another 10 to 15 HP. With your pulley/air box/cat back, the only main difference with a JCW are the heads and the tune. I asked that my tune be conservative, not too lean, and IMO I'm pushing close to what my S2000's did with 240 BHP, about 204 WHP.

Did the work myself and also quite satisfied that I did not go with a header.

 

I got 200 FWHP with just what's listed below. 15% pulley, header and a Way tune were the biggest factors. (This was on my 2005 MCS, not the GP)
