turbo/supercharger-whats Up?

There have been all this talk and speculation from a couple of performance shops.
I have getting a little frustrated that a kit hasn't not officially posted or offered as of yet.
This could be the great simple modification and the superior tuning kit ever for the S. Mini.
I would be happy if someone will give me the straight answer on this kit.
The time is now to let everyone understand.

There are a couple:

M7-? I think Supercharger
SPI-Twincharge
Helix-Twincharge
Promini-Turbo
AMD-Supercharger
?????

A part of me doesnt mind the time it takes b/c I want them to get it right.
I will definitely be on the market for a kit.

Me too. That has always been a safe position to take. I just wish that someone would step up and hit one for the home team

Its hardly a simple modification, but it will be an awesome one when it is finally on the market and something I will look at seriously. Better make sure I have a back up car though so that WHEN I blow up my MINI I will have something to drive while its in the shop.

I am literally waiting on 1 custom part right now(should be arriving this week, crossing our fingers) and then it all goes on both my car as well as Eric from Helix' car. We are all jigged up and ready for production on this kit. As soon as I have it on and tuned we'll post some pics as well as dyno and track data. I want to get data for both street trim(pump gas, street tires etc),as well as race trim (slicks, race gas etc)

here is a bit of a preview of what to expect from either twin-charger setup:

-turbo, probably ball bearing, with wastegate
-manifold with 4:1 turbo connection
-exhaust down pipe from turbo
-oil lines and connectors for lube and cooling to turbo bearings
-hose and pipe for air from turbo to blower intake
-air intake filter
-larger injectors
-fuel management piggyback system
-some sort of heat contol (water injection/intercooler spray, or replacement intercooler)
-some sort of manifold pressure blow-off valve
-a lot of component fitting and dyno testing are behind these "kits"

You would probably be advised to have a full flow, at least 2-1/2", exhaust, boost gauge, stock size blower pulley and a few sets of extra front tires.

Part of the goal of these babies is to totally spank almost every other modded car out there for less money than the JCW. The kits are designed to be bolt-on 250+ wheel hp.

my guess is we will see the Psi-fi/Heiix system on two cars by the end of the month, give or take a week or two. Hubie has tested his kit on a couple of cars and expects to have it at the October SEMA show in a marketable form.

The Promini turbo only car has been on the road for over a year, but they have shown no signs of marketing it.

The Psi-fi is the Helix twin-charged. As jlm stated, it should be available for sale any week now.

USA, reeeelllaaaaax.

You cannot just slap a "kit" together and throw it out there for the masses. A ton of planning, tuning, and fine tuning need to be done. There have been people working on a kit long before you began inquiring. We are all eager, but must understand it will take time.

exactly Bisch..... things will go BOOM w/o proper testing.... problem is joe do-it your selfer will undoubtably make mistakes installing it causing a problem then blame the manufacturer. These kits have to be "Murphy" proofed first. Something that takes plenty of time. Patiently waiting.......
