Drivetrain NGK (1422) ILKR8E6 Spark Plug????? Really Confused!!!
Since they are colder plugs, depending on when you plan to get tuned, you run the risk of fouling, which could lead to misfires. I would hold off until the week you plan to get tuned. I wouldn’t change them out until maybe a few days before.
Hello All,
Manic (running a Manic Tune) recommends replacing plugs at about 10K miles, which I just reached after 7 years.
I haven't looked at them yet to check their condition (looked fine last check).
What are folks thoughts on replacing at 10K?
Don't want to remove them and need replacements.
Cheers!

Based on experience, more boost is hard on plugs. I’m only on my second set of 1422s with an RPM stage 2 in a 2013 N18. The first set was in for close to 20K, which in hindsight was clearly a mistake.
Hello,
Just a heads up that we have seen a bunch of MINI factory spark plugs now come as Champion which is now OEM, we are seeing it on some older plugs also. Its champion France so its fancy unlike your lawnmover spark plug.
Not to make things more confusing for MINI, but they like to change supplier.
