I was thinking of doing similar mods. Does it pull hard?

I assume you are talking to me about my car....

YES.... pulls quite nicely. Maybe not quite as briskly as new MINI's, due to the gearing differences with the early models (mine's a May/June 2002 if memory serves me correctly.) A friend of mine has a Dinan stage1 MCS and his feels a little more enegertic, but then again I've only been the passenger in his and never driven it, so his driving technique may differ from mine.

Power comes on sooner and smoother, acceleration feels quicker since putting the Dinan throttle body on, but the real fun starts when you get the tach needle pointing straight up and floor it....

It's not a corvette, but it's a mighty fast MINI....
