Easy question for the experienced MINI mechanic

I am doing the CV / axle shaft on my 03 MCS and none of the write ups that I have seen show the new drive shaft splines getting new lube before being inserted back into the car.

Is this correct? What does the Bentley manual say? Is it common to not lube the splines on reassembly?

Really doesn't matter. It'll be lubed up from the inside.

Bentley Manual doesn't say. I agree above as it should be fine. Maybe putting anti-seize is an option.

I always put a little anti seize on them as that will help get them out later.
