Traction Control

So I am wonder how I can disable this... permanently. It is the most annoying thing in the world and I do not need it. Any way to do both traction and stability? It's a FWD and they get in the way.

Maybe you can go into the code and rewrite the default value from the being ON as the start-up default to OFF being the start up default.

...there is a few threads on how to do this on the forum.

Best of luck.

Motor on!

you can do that, or just turn it off manually every time you get in your car. there might also be a modual like the auto up, that turns it off automatically

Either manually turn the DSC off when you get in the car (which becomes habit), or find a FES unit which will turn DSC off for you every time the car is started.

Not entirely sure if the FES unit is available, but if you can find one used I would jump on it.

I'm not sure if this is available anymore, but here goes....

I too had that damned traction nanny. My solution was to buy one of the Ian Cull auto up circuits with track mode. Once put in track mode the traction control defaults to off when the car is started. If you want it flip the switch & it is back. In the 9 years I've had this on my MINI I've never needed or wanted to turn the traction control on. One thing if your MINI had DCS this will turn that off too. My MINI does not have DSC.

A quick Google search found this......

Outmotoring.com sells some type of module and that disables this automatically on every start up.

I have the Ian's Cull module in my car with the DSC defeat enabled. Works great and turns the traction control off as soon as you turn the car on.

I drove my Mini during winter when I bought it (december) and I couldn't stand that god damn traction control in the snow. Even during summer it gets annoying when trying to merge on a road as cars are coming and you get a bit of wheel spin and it decides to cut the power...

Yeah I get it constantly.... I've been turning it off lately and the car drives so much better with it off. I'm not even pushing it or trying to do a burnout it just drives so much better, I get power and it doesn't kill it.

The auto up module with track mode is nice...
If you ever get the car tuned, the tuner can reduce the agressivness of the power reduction...fankly, I have not had to turn it off since the tune...RMW/Jan "adjusts" the DSC to make it less intrusive...
