That's what it seems like. The problem is, everything MINI is so expensive that it's just crazy. There is no reason that parts for a 3 year old car should still be like this

Do a search on eBay for "Megan stainless". None of their stainless headers for Hondas are even $100.

It is a combination of quantity (they produce massive ammounts of parts for lots of cars, so adding this is very wasy for them. The tool up is minimal, and the pipes are all there.) and Labor Rates. Unfortionatly, in the US it is becoming harder and harder to be competative with foriegn labor. I try to use USA MFG's when possible, but sometimes it is not economical.

That's how it should be. I know that some products are determined to be exclusive to a certain few (like JCW) and that raises prices. But, there should be more options out there for those of us who care about performance and not necessarily the name that goes on it.

Of course, after saying that I think we need some #'s for the new Megan header for comparison, don't you?

Wow, can we all stand up and give MiniPilo a HUGE round of aplause for bringing out a reasonably priced header from a NAM supporting sponsor!

[where's the little aplaudding smiley???]

Thank you!!

I would definitely love to see this compared to some of those uber 800-1000 headers lined with gold and diamonds. Probably the exact same thing.

I should have one tomorrow, so that I can test fit and such. If all checks out, it will be for sale.

Clearly, the market has reacted, companies such as OBX and now others following suit have found the necessary target price to get consumers to react and move product. At this new pricing range, enthusiasts can seriously consider headers as an option mod. Price per HP makes the mod interesting and attractive.

It would be an interesting NAM pole to query those that have headers either what price range they paid or by brand. I will assume that after the 200.00 header came out that the percentage of NAM header owners increased significantly.

This header looks identical to HP Racing's header

http://hpracing.com/newprod.html

i called them about this and they said it only fits the reg cooper....i looked up a exhaust manifold for both cars and found them to be the same. So im wondering if they are interchangable. i think there are.

Warning

Just thought everyone should know that I purchased this header about a year ago and about 6months ago I had to remove it because it started to leak very badly. The leak got progressively worse. It happened at the flex pipe and it appeared to make contact with the front sway bar(stock on my car) causing the leak. Use caution when buying a non researched product.
