Hp racing header and Skunk2 cat-back
I decided to break down and buy an HP header to add to my skunk2 cat-back, although I was going to spend more on a jackson racing header, I opted not to because I'm going to turbocharge soon. But meanwhile I will say that the fit & finish of the skunk exhaust is awesome, everything fit like stock, including the header. The only complaint I have is the twin 3" tips do not line up 100% perfect, one sits about 1/8" too short, but its very hard to notice.
I have unfortunately not been able to dyno before and after, but when I do, I suppose you could compare my results to someone who has intake, AMD 1-click and 15% pulley. These are my mods prior to the exhaust. My butt-dyno says It feels the same on the bottom end much stronger in the midrange though, and the top end is slightly stronger.
The sound? LOUD, maybe too loud for some, but it really roars, if you like the raspy snap crackle and pop sounds of an original 1970's mini cooper race car. The nice thing is that its only loud when you really romp on it, and the vibrations are not bad at all, no rattles, no annoying drone on the highway either. I definitely reccommend this exhaust as a cat back, it sounds as good if not better than the throaty Magnaflow. As for the full no-cat header, its not for everyone if using this exhaust.

HP Racing Header
I've run out of "easy" performance mods... with a header being the last truely "bolt on" modification available to me. So, I'm going to try this header and I'm going to weld in a cat, and wrap it all in heat tape. I'd be happy to report back with my opinions... sadly I don't have a dyno available here in Italy

I still find it amazing that manufactures and vendors can find a market for $700+ headers. That's just insane to me. Why won't any of our MINI Vendors carry this product? Do you know something I don't? Even very high quality cat-back exhaust systems cost less than a simple header. And an exhaust has more components and material in its contruction. Granted, a high-end race cat can cost that much, and perhaps can be justified in a true race header. But hi-po street headers? I just can't swallow it. I understand the physics and principles of designing and tuning an optimized header. But, our motors aren't 600 cubic inch drag racing machines, where winning can be the difference between a fraction of ft-lb of torque and/or HP. My only conclusion is that the MC market share is so small, that R&D costs account for a major portion of their cost? /rantmode-0/
whew... sorry... Have a great Holiday, btw...

Good News and bad news... First the bad. The first batch was made with out a Catalytic converter. The good news is that the cost will only be 245 for the first batch. We will test one next week to see how it is. The Next version will include a "Test Pipe" and a Cat Upgrade. This will still be a great price, we just need to get them made up. Sorry for this unexpected change.
Here is an image of the header that we will be selling for now. The second is what I plan to have made for the next set.
