Unichip Switches: Where to Mount??

I was wondering where you guys mounted your switch(s) for the unichip? A friend and I were going to cut a hole into the mirror adjustment panel but I said to hold off and I would ask where everyone else mounted theirs.

I mounted under the switch panel with double sided tape, which is easily accessible and no drilling required.

That would be kind of a cool use for the blank toggle switch spot.

put mine under the switch panel. down between the two vertical post. it is set back and the light and switches are out of site. just enough to know they are there and are for something but not in you face. the panel is able to come out easily and it is soft material so it works well. good luck. brg mcs now i wish i could put my tower brace back on.

I was thinking about that but I already plan on using it for my sprayer.

Mine are under the hood tucked away out of the way.

How often are you going to change it??

I dont plan on changing it very often, but I do want it to be accessible without having to pop the hood.

I don't want to permanently mount mine yet, but I've scoped-out an area. For those with a parcel shelf, I'll be using the blank-out piece (about 1x2") on the left. I also will be replacing the rockers with some cool toggles to keep consistent with MINI motif...

My A/B map switch is in under the gutter area near the Unichip module wrapped
in a plastic bag and zip tied (under the bonnet).

I didn't see myself flipping the sw so many times so until I get a intercooler
water spray kit, the switch is going to stay there. Once the spray kit
is available, I am going to locate the activation sw in the euro-parcel tray
dummy switch cover.

That's an ideal place for it. Too bad that location is already occupied in my car for laser jammer on/off switch.

Another location to consider is the 2 blank switches on both sides of the e-brake.

Very useful, you really "need" one

That is indeed what I was referring to earlier (the photo posted by MOTORN). I think it is an ideal spot, and looks very sharp! Of course one needs to have parcel shelf, and it is well worth it I feel, and not just for the added space, as there is now even more leg room...

I've installed a dual cigarette lighter in there, and my aux input. The iPod sits very nicely on that shelf also. I must say that it is the best non-peformance related mod that I've done, and very easy at that...

Back to the swithces though. As seen in MOTORN's photo, there is no room on that blank-out for both swithces, just the one and the corresponding light. The second switch is not functional yet, and for those who have no plans to use it, then with one, that person is done...

Since I would want to use the 2nd one for something, I want to mount both. And two toggles take-up much less space than the rockers. It should be no problem mounting them in that same spot. From past experience with rockers with markings painted-on such as these, they will wear-off with time. While the red light serves as an indicator obviously (for the A/B function), this is not highly important, but aesthetically, I don't care for the look when the paint starts to rub off. Plus, since the other switch does not have a light, the paint markings will be seen as more critical for some. Up or down being on/off will do for most though, I would think...

Keep us updated on the toggles. I have been looking for some switches that will match the switches on the toggle panel.

Thanks.
