Survey: Performance mods that did nothing?

Perhaps it should say mods that seemingly didn't do what it was supposed to do.

This thread is specifically for people like myself that spent money on mods that either didn't perform as claimed, made the car worst or did nothing in terms of performance. Hopefully this thread could save you some greenbacks!!!

State the part or brand and why you think it was a waste of money!

Here's one

NM intake: little to nothing in performance gains and made a very annoying whistle noise from the turbo!

Verdict: waste $$$

I could have told you that about the NM intake before you spent the money. Its a glorified noisemaker. It's not a CAI since it's not taking any cold air in whatsoever. You should have just done a panel filter upgrade in the stock box...and all for $50.

I think that most people feel good about their mods, because they made the decision to buy the part, and it must be beneficial. For example: adding a dp-back exhaust sounds faster, so it must be faster, right?

Have fun,
Mike

Catback exhaust does nothing.
You will only get performance if you delete your cats.

No need for a survey. From what I can tell only the following are worth considering on an otherwise stock engine:

Catless Downpipe
ECU tune/BMS JB+
Intercooler/Meth/E85

Anything else is marginal gains at best, causes loss of torque at worst.
