Hey guys, now that I've decided I'm gonna get the H-sport springs, should I wait until I pass up the break-in period??? just curious as to what you guys think?

I'm not sure that it matters. But since the break in period is so short, I'd probably just wait. Good luck.

Generally you should drive the MINI stock for the entire break in period. If something goes wrong then you can get everything worked on easily and under warranty. If you wait the first few months or roughly a few 1000 miles to work out the bugs then the dealer cannot claim that your mods caused the problem discovered.

Once you mod a system then all parts directly linked to that system have now lost their warranty. Springs are part of the suspension so once you add the H-sports: all alignment issues, noise from the suspension, wear on your wheels, issues with stock suspension parts like the shocks, swaybars, links, etc are all likely to be closed scrutinized and warranty work refused.

It is always a good idea to drive the MINI in stock form for a time to allow you to appreciate the car in stock form. Once you have a very good idea of how things work then do a mod one at a time to see what difference it might make as a lone upgrade. Only then can you begin to appreciate which mods do which things from a performance standpoint.
If you do three mods like pulley upgrade, ECU and exhaust all at the same time the effects and muddled together so you won't know how each alone added would have been.

In your case I'd say run the MINI stock for at least 2000 to 3000 miles. Nothing wrong with running stock for a year if you like. Then do the homework and planning and get stuff upgraded one part at a time then drive it that way for another 1000-2000 miles at least before changing more stuff.

If you are doing the springs for looks that is a different matter and you can do the changes when your budget allows.

Thanks for the input. I have to admit that I'm really anxious to throw on the springs, but I guess it would be a good idea to wait. I primarily wanted to throw them on to give it a sportier look, but I guess waiting a a few thousand miles isn't a big deal. It just means I have to drive it more now!!! Maybe I can get the windows tinted in the mean time...........
