Installed! Flowmaster Super 10 Muffler on Q300 system

Hi all,

Just had a super 10 muffler installed and I love the new sound. I'm finally satisfied with the sound that's put out! Here's my video demo of it!

At cruising speed, I don't notice too terrible of a drone...but there's a drone. It's when I accelerate even slightly that the drone magnifies. If I really get on it, the exhaust note makes me grin from ear to ear. Contrary to the reviews I read on this specific muffler though, I could easily hear my radio and/or carry on a conversation at cruising speeds. But if I step on it, forget it, conversation will have to wait until I'm off the pedal lol, it gets that loud.

I'll have to take a video to demonstrate. Sounds reverberate a little more within my cabin because of it's 'gutted' condition...and I still didn't think that it was that bad.

Then again...this is coming from a guy who likes his motorcycle exhausts open pipe loud...

Come to think of it, I could just be a little deaf

lol, I hope this response is helpful even in the slightest bit

That's what I expected from my Borla S-Type Aggressive Sound Plus, yours sounds nice! When I heard you wife mention something about your sweater not being enough I laughed pretty hard because I ran my air conditioner most of the day here in Southern California!

You would think the arctic circle extended down in the midwest/east coast!

haha, thanks man! any sound clips of your type? now I'm curious how THAT sounds...youtube here I come!

yeah, I actually just got back from a quick ride around the neighborhood on the motorcycle (I finally finished my build so I was anxious to ride it)...that's why she was concerned that that's all I was wearing. But that sweater is actually spec'd for snowboarding...so most of me was fine...even while at 40mph in 32F. couldn't say the same for my hands though...hence, the 'quick' ride lolol

thanks for watching! wish I was in southern cal though...I'd still be able to ride!!

That sounds great! I have the stock exhaust with 2nd cat and resonator delete, and I had a carless down pipe on for a while, but it was a little bit too raspy for me. This sounds perfect though!

thanks! really appreciate it...yeah I really wanted a catless dp but I didnt' want to have to deal with CELs, emissions inspection, popo, etc etc...so I'm glad I found the sound I was gunning for without going the catless dp route.

CNT makes a catted dp for about 300 bucks...I may just go with that one.

You have to roll down the windows to hear it when you're on the pedal, I have learned that running with primary and secondary cats act like mufflers. So I'm thinking about losing the second cat and going with a Akrapovic Downpipe & High-Flow Cat to liven things up together with a tune. Later I'll try to get a video clip of my Borla, R56 Mini Cooper S w/ Alta Downpipe and Borla S.

That's pretty loud but but with a nice deep tone, on my Euro spec car I just changed the DP to a CNT sports cat and it was about 30% louder so if you go catless its going to be CRAZY loud . Couldn't see your ears but I'm guessing the drone bleeds haven't started yet

Yours sounds good. I had to lose the Flowmasters on my Vette because the drone at highways speeds was terrible. Ended up going with Magnaflows.
I have the CNT system on my Mini and have been thinking about their catted DP, but everything I hear is that you'll still get a CEL. I'll wait for that until I get a Tune so I can adjust accordingly.

You could get the Akrapovic Delete-R which will not allow any cels related to the second o2 sensor, Akrapovic's Downpipe & High-Flow Cat are a must have item for me at least!

I ran my CNT catted downpipe for four months before I got my tune and just used the android torque app to clear it. Much cheaper than the Delete-R especially if your going to get a tune anyway

damn! didn't know the catted version threw a CEL too. welp, that makes that decision easy lol, stock dp remains!

CNT catted or resonated dp? Ive seen the resonated one and am thinking about getting it. I already deleted the second cat with the cnt dp back system.

Also when you clear the error with torque, does it pop back up or is it once and done?

I had a o2 simulator circuit on my catless talon before that worked. It just showed a voltage differential between the o2 sensors that mimiced a working cat. I'll have to see if I have any data on it (was home built years ago). No cel.

hey sorry nine5...haven't been on in a while. I'm not sure if your question was directed at me...but...I WAS interested in the CNT catted version, however I was assuming 'catted' always meant 'no CEL' aka...I could still pass my emissions test. Apparently that isn't the case. And I don't have the patience nor funds to mess with trying to hide that CEL...so I'll likely keep my stock dp!
