Intercooler Install Crash Bar Removal??

I have a 2013 Mini Cooper S Hatch and I have heard in the 2013 models that in order to fit the intercooler you need to remove the crash bar. Is this true?
Did any of you guys install a Front Mount Intercooler on a 2013 model?

Thanks!

The Helix step core fits without removing the safety bar.

Removed the bottom one and had to grind it a little. The typical top bar doesn't need to be taken off. I think mine had an extra cross bar because it's a 2013. Here is pic of my grinding. I don't think the earlier years had this extra support

I've installed about a dozen Forge Intercoolers on 2013's including my own GP and haven't had to cut or remove the crash bar on any of them.
But if you did find you have trouble fitting I would cut like Mario did and touch it up with some paint.

I just installed the Forge Intercooler on my 2013 JCW R56...had to remove the crash bar completely. Good thing I live here in Orlando...I'll be paying them a visit to make sure they gave me the right core and see what went wrong. Other than that...very happy with the performance, LOL
