Drivetrain 550CC injectors and E85
550CC injectors and E85
I'm running with 550CC Bosch EV14s. My specs are %17 wmw pulley, RMW BVH and Grand Am cam. So, My question is I want to use E85 but can i use my 550ccs?
Why do I need bigger injectors ?
Did anyone try Cry02 for cooling ?
Please help me

Call Mynes. They did some E85 testing. 550's might work, possibly a step-up to the 700cc range, but man-oh-man, you're going to get some terrible gas mileage. An E85 tune will give you maybe 25 more hp, but requires ~30% more fuel. E85 is also corrosive, and while others have used it without damage...your car isn't flex-fuel rated (obviously), and there's a reason outside of tuning alone. Your hardware isn't built for corn.
I have the ViPEC and 950cc bosch ev14 cores (not drilled units. These were made in the bosch motorsports sample shop by hand)
The vipec is fantastic as it allows you to connect different sensors and select that input and what it means.
So, for my setup, I have a GM flex fuel sensor and a fuel return setup (working on installing that currently). All the fuel lines are viton (R) lined and rated for E100.
My fuel pump and filter are also rated for up to E90 continuous service.
the sensor is in the return path and sends a signal to the ECU which updated a 4D fueling as well as a 4D timing table, and once the turbo setup comes on it will also control a scaler on the boost controller.
aka. The vipec allows the car to be 100% flex fuel. no "map switching" as it actually scales the fuel and timing maps based on et-oh % in your fuel.
Oh.. and it will automatically allow more boost with ethanol and less without it.
(if it is set up correctly of course
)
