super charger replaced (not running right now)

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper 120,000 miles on it.I checked the oil in the front end of the SC it was completely dry. Sent supercharger out to be rebuilt. Re installed with new gaskets. After startup car sounds like it has an air leak, throttle response is kind of boggy from 0 to 1000rpm. no stored trouble codes yet.( won't be able to check till later)
I had no problems with the plastic lines and the red retainers. Use new seals for SC to throttle body. Seals are not pinched at intercooler. Can't figure out what I'm missing. There were no issues with the car before I started. I'm guessing some electrical component (probably one or two) decided to fail while working on the SC. That's usually how it works for me. but that doesn't explain the difference in sound it makes.
anybody run Into similar issues?
.

just double check the intercooler boots. They tend to fold in on the bottoms sometimes when re-installing.

Also make sure the clamps on the bpv are on tightly.

you can use a hose with one end on your ear and move the other end around to try and find the source of the air leak.

rechecked the seals and the intercooler no issues found. the perceived air leak might be the supercharger, appears to have a lot more whine than my old one.
something new and strange has occurred though. tapped the throttle peddle lightly several times to see at what RPM the boggy ness would stop, and the ACS light flashed and lost all throttle control. cars is on jacks with the wheels removed and in neutral.
seems like a throttle position sensor issue to me.
was going to get the stethescope out and poke around a bit.never thought of the host of the ear trick. Thanks

Since you can HEAR AN AIR LEAK..... Why not look for an air leak, rather than talk about a sensor issue.,......if you can hear it...should be easy to find...

If you hear a leak....why bother looking for codes...get in the bay and listen....have a helper start the motor....

turn of DCS if you have it the car in the air. the front tires are spinning but the rears are not so that car thinks the tail has slid out. lol

i made the same mistake when i replaced my tranmission then was like oh duh, hit the switch and everything was ok.

Well checked for codes. None found. Put everything back together including air box. Seem to run OK. Still a bit boogy when taking off. No where near as bad as listening to it in the garage with air box off. Guess I have a deluded perception from not hearing it run for several weeks. Sorry guys for the false alarm.
Thanks for all the help.
And Thanks geek drifter did not know about the ACS.

It may seem a little boggier off the line for the first few thousand miles. If the new charger was brand new or has newly coated rotors they will need to wear in. You should see some improved boost levels soon (I hope) haha.
