Sound is kinda subjective....
The JCW is the most quiet..
OThere...not sure..but depends on tastes....
Some poorly designed exausts sound a bit "ricey"....kinda like honda 's with a "fart cannon" or simply raspy.... something that most folks want to avoid when spending $$ on sound.

Meister is bigger on the BMW side of things, but of that list, you cannot go wrong with Akrapovic.

I had Akra on my MINI and it is one of the smoothest sounding exhausts out there for the 2nd gen platform. I got so many compliments just saying "I have Akrapovic" and everyone wants to walk over and look at the CF tips. That's the quality that Akra will pull for you.

I had the Arqray on my BMW and it too demands attention since I was like only the 4th person in the US to have that exhaust. It is an extremely quality part that has unmatched fit and finish. So I have no doubt that it'll sound subtle like the Akra and also won't drone. That's just my theory on that!

Milltek is a good brand, but I haven't been a huge fan of their exhaust on the MINI side and JCW exhaust doesn't have the quality sound I've been looking for.

If you want something in that ballpark price range of the Akra, I would look into iPE.
They make exhaust systems for supercars and they have one for the MINI. That or Revzport. Those are only 2 exhausts I am considering at this point. Look into the choices I mentioned and you will not be disappointed.

Ouch, I didn't realize iPE was so expensive out there. Must be the ridiculous import taxes kinda like the ownership of a car out there. If that's the case, then the Revzport would be more expensive than the iPE.

I would say go with the Akra since it's a bit more reasonable and sounds better than any of the other exhausts that aren't astronomically expensive.

A JCW with a Header is awesome and has great sound.
Just because it's more expensive doesn't make it better.
Save some money and go with the JCW.

@minian: that's good idea, but i dont want to change header

@ra2fanatic for akrapovic, better i go with resonantor or not??

for ipe local workshop said if i go for ipe full system, there're guaranted me the CEL will not come

in other discussion i read all kind of downpipe will cause CEL issues

Yes, I've heard of Kressieg, and from their youtube videos, it doesn't sound very good for that price. And for that price, I'd rather spend half that and go full titanium Revzport.

Never heard of Armetric F1, but I'd rather choose iPE over it because it's a much more reputable company who deals with supercars every day, so knowing that they deal with nothing but supercars, their quality is very likely spot on.

I'm not sure how anyone can guarantee no CEL, but if that's what they say, good luck!
