Okay, I've got a Supersprint header and a Magna-deafening-flow exhaust. Since day one, I have been roasting the cat. It stinks to high heck. I'm sure it is getting blocked up. Should I gut it like I did in the VW days, or put in a race cat? I will be installing a Venom nitrous kit soon also. The Venom reads from the sniffer. Will a "test pipe" with the sniffer still in give me a problem with the Venom?
Someone...anyone...help.

I haven't seen any testing that indicates increased power from gutting your cat and you WILL have fault codes from doing so. Why don't you look into getting a high-flow cat that will still clean the air like this one that jlm has:

Yeah man, put a race cat if anything. It's really not cool to pollute the air more than what we are doing now.

Hi Bisch....
We did some testing on maxminis car, he has a borla race exhaust, moss headers and no cat. We took the car as is with
all those goodies on it and had it dynoed.... guess what he was 6 hp down on my car with only a supertrapp and a PB.

And to topp it of the ECU was throwing a fit......so on went the cat and we all are breathing better including the car.

Thanks for the replies. I know I won't gain power, I just don't want to loose power from a melted cat.

As far as air pollution, I live on the far east coast. All of my pollution just goes offshore....so it's okay. It's all you left coaster's that pollute my air!

For the love of all that is Holy, that was a joke, so don't start the flames!
