Clutch opinion

My OEM clutch is burned out. I'm upgrading to a Hybrid turbo and adding stage 4 with the AP. I know i need a performance clutch that will hold at least 275lb. tq. What clutch can i buy that will hold the torque. I don't want to buy the kit with the flywheel. I heard that you can lose tq. and gain RPM but i prefer tq.

What about SPEC ?
other suggestions?

thanks

MOD: Alta intake and turbo inlet tube, Hot and Cold side Tubes, Alta FMIC,3" catless DP and 3"catless exhaust, Upgraded BOV, Stage 3 AP.

275, haha. The stock clutch will be fine. But I bet your flywheel will need replacing once they take it out.

If you go with a Spec Stage 2 or 3 clutch I would recommend getting a new flywheel even if it is OEM. Generally speaking when a clutch goes out the flywheel also needs to be replaced as well.

Factory JCW spec flywheel and clutch or go all out and go for OS Giken.

I have a friend that has a JCW and started using AP STAGE 3 and the clutch went out in less than 20k miles. Is the JCW better than the MCS?

Well i think stock will be. I'l keep researching on the stock JCW CLUTCH vs. performance aftermarket Clutch.

All the people that are saying to go stock. Are you running stock cars or modified car with tuning?

Failures on the mighty OS Giken Eric? Or are you saying this from a cost standpoint?

If your friends clutch went out in 20k it was probably his fault. The standard MCS clutch will be able to hold the power.

IMO Idon know if it was the clutch or a bad bleeding after installation but I had a Spec stage 2 + installed when factory went up. The warranty is 120 days mine took a dump at 133 only 10k miles on it only mods were BOV spring and intake. I just had the dealer put in stock JCW clutch Im not sure if the S is same I may haqve paid more for nothing beter but Stock clutches have 2 year warranty. Unfortunately the other option is the Giken clutch but you cant drive that on the street its a race item. I have had Spec clutches in other vehicles w/o problems but I have seen alot of people with the issues with the Spec clutches.

OS Giken sells the GTR version, which is a touring version. The price is still terrible though!
