Stratmosphere exhaust installed!

Finally got the Stratmosphere installed after adding in some aluminium spacers for the rear hangers. Unfortunately getting the old exhaust off was somewhat of a pain, so two of the bolts that attach to the inner rear hangers partially snapped off, so I was limited to how thick of a spacer I could use. Nevertheless, everything worked out in the end.

The only thing I'll get adjusted down the road are the tips, which are partially at an angle, which causes them to appear slightly offset from center. Although, it's not too bad. Once I started driving it though, my worries were gone. Thing sounds very nice with a nice deeper tone. Tomorrow, I'll install the DDMworks CAI to finalize my mods for the time being.

I've waited seven years for this, and it feels good to finally do some proper engine mods.

Yesterday, installed the DDMworks intake, and the process went pretty smooth overall. Taking the MINI for a drive was like hearing the whine of the supercharger for the first time again.

No pics or video at the moment, but I could take some if needed. I just figured most people have seen what parts I have on other MINIs, hence why no pics in original post.

As far as drivability goes, I am very pleased with the results. Whine from the supercharger happens at around 3k rpms or thereabouts, the exhaust itself is quiet under normal conditions, but gets louder under more throttle.

Speaking of throttle, it does have more snap to it, although I haven't given it the full beans just yet. Absolutely no droning on the interstate or highway, which is a plus.

Overall, I am very satisfied with it. Like I mentioned in the OP though, the tips don't exactly line up, which are slightly offset to the driver side, so I'll probably take a couple photos to give you and anyone who's interested an idea of what I mean.

I have the same alignment problem with my strat cat-back. I haven't been able to fix it.

What was the reason for the aluminum spacers?

Well done! A good catback and CAI enhance the R53's auditory experience greatly. Now, repeat after me:

Seventeen.
Percent.
Pulley.

Do this and you'll peg the MINIs Fun Meter, if not break the needle off. You'll have a stubborn case of permagrin for sure
