That is pretty far away for me as I live in NC but it is tempting enough to stay in the loop.

 

It'll be worth it. Chances are that you might get a ride in that slick rmw built shop car

 

I have a remote RMW tune right now. Will be installing my RMW Dominator cam and 450cc injectors which are overdue at my mailbox. I have the updated map sitting in my tool waiting to go. Worst case I know I will see Jan at MOTD or maybe meet him when he comes this way for his Porsche gig. When are you thinking you are going to host him?

 

I just called Ian to get on the list. Sounds like a worthwhile investment even with the modest upgrades I have.

Second this. This thread is very vague. Some more details would help. Where, when, how much, how it works, which models it works for etc. etc.

 

I think the tune itself will run ~$300, dyno time not included. The Where will be Orlando, FL. The When is TBD. Ian said that once they have at least three people interested they'll set a date. I think that any car can be tuned (SC, TC, NA) but I don't know if one will see more gain over another from a tune.

I didn't get an exact amount for the dyno but I'd figure $100-$200 on top of the tune.

 

I called, so as for the dyno it is $75-100 on Real Streets dyno with Jay. The tune is around 300 as Ian does not know what Jan will charge just yet. There are 3 of us lined up so far. The more the better. They are shooting for March 16th. All this info including Ian's phone number was posted without him knowing. He now knows because 2 of us have called him. This is why info is the key to making this a success. So Matt give Ian a call.

 

I commented in the other thread. I'm a maybe depending on time and total cost. I have to be at work by 6 in St. Pete.

 

I'd love to go if I can finish my car in time. I've got plenty of mods and will be adding some more and always worry that the stock tune isn't going to be ok forever.

Just spoke to Ian, apparently there's been some issues with posting, that's why there haven't really been any updates.

If you are interested he said to just give him a call, the number is in the first post.

So far the numbers seem to be as follows:
Tune: $350 for R53
$500 for R56
Dyno: ~$75, depends on how long you're on there

So yeah, apparently he's just waiting on a few more people to confirm, just go ahead and give him a call so he can set it up

 

I just spoke with Ian, there are 3 cars scheduled at this time and we are looking at March 20th or 21st. Call Ian to join us next week if interested in a Jan RMW tune 407-425-0545

 

darn, thats a week before im supposed to take delivery of my R59 AND im in Windermere so its right next door to me.

 

Just so you guys know Jan can work magic. Depending on the car you can get 5hp

(if it one of the rare strong out of the box cars) to 30hp. On average 10hp to 15hp.

I hope you have someone there with tools to help repair....... you will have issues.

Since the Original poster On NAM was blocked and we had a cancellation on the dyno day we need a couple more people to make it worth while to fly Jan in. We had planned on This weekend or early next week but with the cancellations we need to pick a new day. Anyone interested Contact me so we can lock this down.

Great news everyone! It's the day before the dyno-tunes, I stopped by Maitland Importers and met Ian and Jan finally, got my car squared away with a new belt, plugs, and injectors, getting my car ready for tomorrow morning.

Jan set me up with a basic "canned" tune just to get my car driveable with the new injectors, and if this is the baseline tune, then I can't wait till the actual tune! My car idles, and runs much much smoother now, I even got higher mpg on the highway on my way home! He can really work some magic

I was there for a while, since there were a few other cars on the lifts, but everyone was super nice, Jan and Ian answered any and all questions I had (trust me, there were a ton)

I'll update this post again tomorrow after I get back home, but so far so good!

 

Got mine today and met cherio. Holy crap!! Cant wait for tune to tie it all together


And for a huge, huge update...

Thus far... rmw head, shorty header, dominator cam, alta exhaust, intake, swaybar, ati 2% , 15% pulley, kw v2 coilover, oz suppraleggras 18s on new rubbers, upgraded brake kit, all new seals and gaskets and most bushing in the front end, suede headliner and a new tint job.


Not bad for a weeks work... so much for my powderpuff 02 with 35k miles.

 

Back from the dyno! Went great, first pull with the canned tune gave 193.6 whp, jan was able to take it up to 200.7 whp, so i'm really happy with the results! Both Jan and Ian were great to work with.
