CAI DDMWorks or DoS?

I'm looking to get myself a new air intake. I had the M7 and had to go back to stock. Time for a change. So I narrowed it down to DDM works and Defenders of Speed. I have the M7 vortex hood scoop so I would be able to ram a lot of air into the DDMworks full race air intake, but I'm concerned that there may be some heat soak from the engine compartment. The DoS appears like it won't have that issue, and is cheaper! Do you think being able to cram more air that may be hotter than ambient temps is better or insignificant? or maybe the temp. won't really matter because it's air just passing through with no real time to absorb heat. What do you think and more importantly what do you know?

If your looking for HP numbers from an intake keep looking. Intakes just don't make power on the turbo cars. Out of those two I would us the DDM intake, but I personally have the JCW intake on my turbo MINI as it seemed to do the best on making torque.

JCW with a K&N is your best bet I think.

Way installed the DDMWorks Race Intake on my '09 and I loved it. The sound of the blow-off is intoxicating.

Way is correct about HP.

The DDM does not work as a traditional "ram air" scoop as a turbo sucks its own air.

If you want a true cold air intake, DoS. If you want the loudest most impressive "blow off" sounds, DoS.

That said, the OEM and JCW boxes DO actually draw cold air through a snorkel.

Only thing about the DOS system. I absolutely loved that system, the only thing I hate about it....when it's time to uninstall and move on. Freakin' hate taking off the bulk head.

I've moved on and though I love it, I don't want to mess with the bulk head again, so that's why I'm trying out this AEM intake. If I don't like it, I'll end up selling it and custom making my own.

Good luck

Thumbs up for DOS! Looks cool, sounds cool and is a true CAI. Like mentioned intakes in these cars won't give you much/any power but they're fun as hell.

Excellent point! I'll look into the JCW as well. Thanks for the input guys. Does the jcw need a turbo inlet tube too or the regular fits that air box?

I did a write up on the AEM system. I think you'll like it. Fairly easy to setup and definitely feel the extra power in just this system. Also comes with a turbo heatshield, so that's definitely a plus
