That is my DDM street intake which isn't a bad price at $200 and easy set up too. I average 1.5 mpg better with this setup. I went back and forth on DoS and this one but love it. None of them are bad though, so good luck in your search.

Also...I'd recommend that since our intake is all the way back of the engine that you take off your scoop grille and paint it black or use plasti dip to cover the underneath part of the scoop. It will help the car breathe A LOT better.

Umm, of course they do. It's listed from 2007-2010. They sell the product, why wouldn't they list it?

I know because I keep clicking on their page. Just waiting til the end of the month to pull the trigger. Maybe you have another year vehicle?

If you want the sound, an open filter is for you, if you are putting performance ahead of everything, I'd suggest a FMIC. The price of some of these hot air filters is just ludicrous. I use a K&N drop in filter just so I could save money instead of buying paper filters. Picked up 2 MPG which is a plus.
Intake temps are either at ambient or +5. When heat soak sets, recovery time is fast...temps plummet, open filter never truly recover from this. I've played around with this using a scangauge. Numbers bested all the open filters hands down.

IMO stock is best, spend your money on something worthwhile,
But at the end of the day it's your decision
In general I agree with you. Open element intake = hot air intake. But I think the sealed systems out there may have some merit. That's what I'm researching...

Plus like stated by Hyland if you want colder temps in you intake charge get a larger inter cooler that is where it is at.
That's what I said about 3 months ago, until I saw this post by laforze:

And this:

laforze seems to have a lot of info on it, and it looks like they did their homework. This seems to qualify as a "true cold air intake" by your definition. Still doing research on DDM and all the others though...

I just installed the DoS intake and it makes a noticeable difference in power (butt dyno). When I first installed it, I forgot to put it in Sport, and thought the intake didn't add much power. So without the Sport on, it was making similar power to the original setup in Sport. With Sport, the difference is significant.

YMMV

Can you elaborate? I am trying to decide between the impending DoS intake (for the R60) or a JCW Stage 1 air box (which, according to Way, should fit the R60 with a touch of creativity).

Also, for those of you with the JCW Stage One, what size and type of dry filters are you using?

no science just a butt dyno feeling, so take it for what thats worth I use a OEM JCW filter in mine. If you want sound go for the DOS.

Thanks, JPMM. Actually, I'd probably tend towards less sound. I like the idea of having a quieter more subtle car. Not into loud exhausts or intakes.

Mostly interested in a little MPG gains. I've heard a lot of people say they picked up ~2 mpg by moving to an aftermarket intake. (Usually, DoS.)

Understood. Did you see any MPG differences between the two? (Or between either/both and the stock setup?)

According to laforze's post, it connects to the stock intake tube.
