No. I've never even seen a Mini smoking a cigarette, much less a tire .

I took a friend for a ride and turned off the traction control. Let the RPM's come up and dump the clutch and it burns out like a Mustang V8! Lots of fun but hard on the tires!

I did a 4000RPM clutch pseudo-dump the other day and got the tires to smoke more than Patsy from Ab-Fab. TOTALLY reminded me of my friends Camaro. Ya, that kind of white smoke from hell burnout. Whoa!

I think that *every* major auto mag article I've read about the MCS has mentioned that it can lay a serious patch. And even though I didn't do a full-on burnout on my test drive, I did turn off the traction control and could tell that there was easily enough power to overwhelm the tires.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to replace my tires every few months. However, just one time, I WILL do a Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard, Starskey and Hutch, A Team, Smokey and the Bandit style f-d up burnout from hell.

And this discussion has inspired me to catch it on film! I promise to post it here

And if that there doesn't inspire everyone to go out there and lay the smack down with their MINI's, I don't know what will. Good on ya buddy. Looking forward to the posting.
Cheers,

I've only had my Mini for a few days and have been too scared to turn off the DSC. I don't want to mess the little guy up. Perhaps I'll try after the 1200 mile mark.

Cheers

some of us have taken our mini-s's to the englishtown drags several times; it is very hard not to smoke the tires so as get a good launch and low time. best runs are around 15.3 ET, 91mph.
