I recently bought a used 2005 mini cooper s and I was just wondering if there was any way to tell if I have an lsd transmisson without having to roast the tires with someone watching. It seems like I might have lsd sometimes and other times it doesn't. I took it up to the track on day to see how well it would do cuz all my buddies have hondas and were busting on me cuz I got it. But anyways, I threw some slicks on it and both tires spun when I did the burnout to warm the tires. But then another day I did a burnout in a parking lot, and only left one strip from one tire. I did a 180 when I did the burnout so I could leave and the tire on the inside left the strip. And another time I raced a buddy just goofing around and the tires on the car aren't that great and I left a nice little patch with both tires. And I was loking online at aftermarket parts and saw an lsd srping(?) kit. I was planning on spending a bunch of money to make the mini a crazy sleeper car cuz honestly I don't know anyone who would look at a mini cooper and say "Don't mess with him. He's got 400+hp." And like I said I'm new to the whole mini scene and I don't know really anything about them. Hondas I know like anything but this is greek to me, lol. But I was just really wondering if there was any way to really know. Like maybe a code or any special thing like that. Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks.

 

If you have a Local Dealer they can run a "Build Sheet" for you and you will be able to tell what was installed on the car during Production.
