New Exhaust for '06 MCS--is new tune needed???

I don't have any immediate plans on upgrading my exhaust. BUT, if I do upgrade the exhaust for my '06 MCS (all stock), need I also get a custom tune for the PCM (or whatever you call it)? Am I at risk for pre-detonation/pinging, and all that fun stuff? Anything else I should consider? Let me know. THANKS IN ADVANCE! 'Happy driving...

I would ask Way Motor Works if the tune is needed or if any of your possible problems might come up after installing a new exhaust.

You shouldn't need one. That's the nice thing about MINI's learning ECU. Just make sure you unhook your battery when you do the install to reset the... "learning".

Yeah. No need to get a tune for just an exhaust.

no need for a tune but you should get it anyway! having a tune even on a stock exhaust is better then just having an after market exhaust if you ask me. with a tune you will actually make more power whereas with the exhaust your gonna make what like 4 hp? if even that. you wont even feel the difference its just going to sound different.
