Removing vacuum line from supercharger ??

While doing my engine swap we are going to swap superchargers on the '03 and '05 MCS engines. There is one vacuum line running from the valve cover to the supercharger that has some type of push in fitting that is playing 'hard to remove'. I have read that this fitting can't be bought alone and wonder what is the trick to removing the line??
The line has a red locking collar on it and I am not sure what to do. It doesn't stick up far enough to push back in and I am hesitant about trying to pull it out.

Need a little advice hear,

Thanks,

Tom in PA

You kind of need to push the red locking collar while wiggling the hose loose. I made the mistake of breaking it off.

Seem like everyone are having problems with this vacuum line. To remove, hold down the red locking piece and pull on the gray vacuum line. You should be able to get this part on this site. Check it out they are great to deal with.

Look under cooling and go to diagram #17_235. I think it's like $18.07

Thanks my man! I ordered the Landrover piece last night. I'd rather get the real part and know it's going to work correctly than jimmy one and trust my skills

Does anyone know where this line physically is pulling vacuum from? IE. is it coming from the water pump oil reservoir ? I cannot imagine it is from inside the impellers?

Obviously where I am going, could you add a drip of oil into this hole if needed.

If you watch the video linked by THE ITCH, the guy refers to it as a vent tube rather than a vacuum tube. So odds are there is no actual vacuum, but venting from the valve cover to return crankcase vapors back into the intake stream.

Spent the day yesterday tearing down and cleaning for water pump replacement and a few other various things...

...now today in re-install mode,
I had no problem removing the red clip s/c vent tube, but I'd thought I'd ask before I attempt putting it back in,
hoping for quick response just to be sure,
don't want to break it:

does it simply press fit back into place?

Thanks.

Maybe too late, but yes, simply press it in.

Good deal.

Thanks for responding!

Not too late because I ended up getting stalled trying to re-install the s/c intake tube anyway, I had left it connected to the other 2 lines with red clips and trying to re-install but was having problems, can't seem to get the green gasket to sit in place correctly, but I think also possibly due to an overly hardenedd hose connector for the bpv was complicating matters --- I ended up taking it all off and taking the little hose section up to Autozone to see if I might get lucky with a similar sized stiff hose but they didn't have anything similar
--- gonna go re-attempt right now and see if it goes any smoother.
