Riss Racing + Invidia Q300 Exhaust!

I know Thumper used to have this combination, but I went with it aswell.

Installation was a pain in the neck, but i'm very pleased with the results.
Highly recommend, ask any questions.

Did you have any problems with fitment?

I have the same set up. Installation was a PITA. I jsacked up my heat shield to get the DP on. Also the damn exhaust rattles off the plate underneath the car becuase the clamps won't hold it in place. I need to go get it tack welded. Through all of that it is one of the best sounding exhaust setups for the R56. Almost no drone and very deep.

The reason I ask is because all of the invidia kits that I have worked with have a whistle at high load. it was a bit odd. I narrowed it to the Vband.

Yeah the bands are really not that good.

Mine never had any sort of whistle.

Just tons of deep goodness

No, the only thing I really noticed was that the stock downpipe is a bit shorter than the riss racing downpipe, so all you really need to do is move the exhaust around a little. Other than that, it's a great deep-sounding exhaust. I love being able to hear my exhaust in the cabin. Paired this with the alta accessport, works like a charm!

That setup sounds awesome. I'm running a catless Riss through a Magnaflow without a resonator. Power is definitely there and it sounds great but on the highway it's so loud I can't hear myself think. There's also quite a bit of drone at certain RPM/speeds.

It's hard to tell in the video but is the highway sound level tolerable with the Invidia? How much drone is there, if any?

I'm seriously thinking of getting a Q300 and selling the Magnaflow. It was fine with the stock DP but it's insane with the Riss.

Very much so. You can hear it but it is not loud at all while you are cruising at highway speeds.

I have this setup too, have had it for quite a long time and LOVE it.

Hardest part was the stupid heat shield as people have mentioned. I also welded the invidia exhaust after getting fed up with it coming apart.

Sounds like the way to go for those running a catless DP. I need to do something since the Magnaflow is killing me on the highway. It sounds good but it's way to loud since I put on the Riss DP.

So it's either the Q300 or experiment with some resonators.

The larger the quieter when it comes to resonators. The problem is you add weight with a bigger resonator.
