Silicone intercooler boots diameter?

These things are round before they go onto the horns. Anyone have a nominal diameter for a new set? Thanks!

And they crack substancially from the inside out hindering early detection of potential leaks.

After the third set of perty ones I gave up and bought new stock couplers....

I've used a couple different places ( Mini Madness, GT Tuning ) and did not have a problem. Yes a little hard at first to get on, but no leaks besides I like red.

I've heard very mixed reviews... Thought I'd do it on the cheap with higher quality round fittings (although I imagine the Altas, etc., are probably rebranded Samcos) for less money, rather than forking over for the overpriced Mini-specific items. Besides, I can get good standard round fittings in town here for a good price; the Mini ones I would have to order.

Cheap is great, but if they leak you could be wasting your money and time. They need to fit tight.

The alta couplers are way over priced. If you can find the correct size there should be no problem

My 2 cents, I had silicon hoses tear, no reinforcing at all. Took to auto parts store, got regular radiator hoses cut to length, worked fine.
But if want the pimped look, disregard.

How did you use radiator hose?

Maybe I'll just measure the horns, assume they're actual ellipses, and do a little experimenting... Thanks all!

ps. The fittings I'm looking at are Vibrant items, and are highly reinforced.

Checkers.. nice looking engine bay. Awesome on the polishing of aluminim. Did you actually do them yourself? Is that a DDM airbox? If so, how do you like it? Performance? Sound? etc. Thanks

Thanks and no I have it done once a year. The air box is from Craven and you can't tell but it's black chromed. The sound is great but I did replace the filter with one I had.

wrap a piece of string around the horn, measure the length of the string. that is the inside circumference of the hose you will need

set that # = to pi(diameter)

So, basically divide the number by pi (3.14) and there's your diameter...
