Fabrication Help!
Hey Guys,
I really hate that I missed out on the opportunity to buy an AGS system from M7 and I bet I'm not the only one. Does anyone know how I could get that kind of direct piping to the supercharger fabricated?
Thanks!

suggestion... unless your rich.. and i mean Richy Rich rich.. don't even think about it. for direct piping your looking at an engine mapping (cad) designing the part in cad, theoretical flow testing (you can get a cad plugin) and then a 3d printing of a mold, sand castings made and then the part cast. Or starting with a solid block of alum (big for a part that size) and CNC / waterjet to make the entire part. Either process to make just one part (not mass produce) would be extremely costly (mainly man hours in design)
fortunately yours in greenville!!!
(I'm @ clemson) if you want the part designed, contact some graduate student at ICAR, they may be able to help. I know one of my friends here has his mechanical engineering degree (back getting a EE) and designed his own custom profiled camshaft for his 550hp/570wtq foxbody (it gets 30mpg too.. he has done all the engine work and programming on this car) so help is available if you make friends.
but IMHO for a part like this, not worth it. (it does sound awesome though)
DDM works is in greenville area as well, with WAY in ATL.
They will both tell you hp/$ that its not worth it.
Way does have a polishing service for all of the metal intake parts (pumps abrasive liquid through the parts to smooth out all of the casting bumps)
the service is listed on his website.

Thanks! That was really helpful, yeah I have had Dave at DDM do all the work on my Mini, I live about 1/2 a mile away from the shop. Perhaps there would be a way to modify the existing piping? I'm a decent welder so that might be possible, but I'm unsure I'll have to look at the actual piping. I wouldnt mind seeing that foxbody, I've always had a soft spot for old 5.0s. I had a heavily modified 2000 GT before the drunk CEO of applebees decided to ram his v12 SLK into it on pelham.
well welding isnt an issue, the stock intake pipe is plastic. (i mean you can plastic weld and take out the silencer.. or i think it has one on it... haven't looked into it in a while though, mine is loud enough already, haha)
ah see thats what I needed to look at, I wasn't sure if the intake for SC is plastic or not. I'm sure it has a silencer in it, and it might not even require you completely removing it to change the sound, I might just be able to mildly modify it to get varying degrees of change. Btw I'm at USC haha, that game in 2 weeks is definitely going to be something to watch
Anyways I'm going to fully maintenance my mini this weekend, I'm way overdue for an oil change and fluid checks. Yay for routine maintenance
