Drivetrain DIY "ram air" scoop attachment
Just post the link youtube gives you without using the button in the post. Additionally I'm not sure what you are trying to say with those videos? Because you know that I know, that you know, most mods are nothing without a tune.

LOL guise I'm not trying to start the hot air vs cold air thing up! All I wanted to do was make the scoop a functional intake and hear my BOV!
Obviously on a turbocharged, fuel injected car that is managed by a computer, none of these changes make that much of a difference! That's a given!
But still... I like the idea that my hood scoop is a little more functional than one of those fake ones that people 3M tape to their hoods! Maybe I'm a little jealous of you R53ers whose hood scoops actually DO something

I think a cold air intake only helps you tune the car with a constant ambient temperature.
That's why the JCW intake is boxed, colder air, MINI designers done it again
Thanks for making me like my car more

On topic though the videos are just saying that to have a true CAI like so many people believe they have the filter needs to be completely out of the engine bay. Also a filter at the end of your stock pipe is probably not going to anything for you and might lose power.
hay guys i just wanted to post my attempted at the hood scoop . i made it out of .019 aluminum from homedepot and small sheet metal screws ,going of some guidance from uhhmoney. i have the m7 super ags and i was getting bad heat soaking of around 20 to 60 degrees fahrenheit over ambiant air temps at 60 + mph . after scoop im getting closer to 1.4 over ambiant which is amazing . still testing and working on better isolation from heat but heres what it looks like so far.

Hey tagggr try using [img] tags. Anyways checked out your scoop, not bad for a first try!
Obviously it's helping you if your intake air temp went from +20 to +1.4 so that is cool! I'd love to see someone measure the intake temp of the stock box that way.

Maybe I will stick mine back on sometime soon. I don't remember if it will fit with the boost tap or not.
