MCS Tranny Swap

Has anyone succesfully or heard of anyone succesfully swaping an auto for manual tranny? I'm sure it can be done and would be somewhat involved but would like to know if anyone has ever done it.
I know pedals and clutch cylinders, possibly axle shafts are just some of the main componenets I'd need. Could find a doner car for most of the parts I'm sure.

Yes, it has been done.
You probably would want to contact Way at Way Motor Works, he has done it and would be a great parts source.

You'll probably need some computer parts in there too. There's gotta be some kind of transmission controller in there for the auto that you'd need to figure out what to do with once the manual is installed.

yeah im thinking id need to replace the ecu, thats where the doner car may come in too. Im not sure if my current ecu can be re-mapped for a standard tranny or not. this may be a long winter project.

people have said it's easier to sell this car and just buy a manual trans car however i'm at a point where I've spent a bunch on suspension and engine mods and have the exterior to where i want it to be aesthetically. It's hard to walk away from that and then have to do it all over again with another car. Thats my sticking point. To me it would be easier, to some extent to do the trans swap. from what I've read so far, the biggest PIA seems to be sorrting out the computer issues not so much the mechanical things.

We just finished doing this for a customer on the boards here.
It was pretty involved. We had previously swapped a R50 CVT to a 6-speed manual and it went smoothly. This time it was an '05 MCS auto to 6 speed manual. We coded out all the auto programming and made the car appear as though it was factory installed with the manual trans. It was a lot of work. There are many different parts for the intake to the supercharger, the engine mounts are offset, the axles are different, the heater core hoses must be re-routed or bypassed for the trans cooler, the reverse lights must be wired into the harness, ect.
If anyone is interested in doing this swap, it can be done for around $5k with parts and labor. This would include a new clutch kit and hydraulic cylinders.
