The tank is seperate. You can run whatever tank you want...The one I have comes fully assembled & fits perfectly in the kit that Jeff has designed for the Mini's...its worth every penny. If you want to go cheap you can run the windshield washer reservoir as your tank...I don't recommend it though.

Tank does not need to be in the trunk. It just fits perfectly there and is out of the way and protected, yet has easy access....so why not put it there

Does anybody offer a horizontal tank instead of the vertical ones we see everywhere? The trunk space is already so limited for me, I don't want to reduce the usability on it more by placing a tank on its side.. I was thinking about a horizontal tank and a false floor on top to keep it safe & secure.. Didn't see it anywhere though..

I'm sure you can figure something out...

However, the tank literally takes up zero room...I really can't see how it would be a deal breaker...it is not in the way at all

The single piece of luggage I generally use takes up the entire space from left to right. If the tank would be fitted to cover up the indent on the left side, it'd be fine but as far as I can see it takes about 4.5" of space which I don't have.. I can go with a smaller luggage but the tank will get in the way whenever I fold up the rear seats to load something bigger like multiple pieces of luggage etc..

Since we already have a big space at the bottom, I wonder why nobody makes use of that.. Digged the hell out of the net and didn't see a single application.

How often do you travel with your luggage? I ask because if its only once in a while, I believe the tank has quick disconnects (i could be wrong, but I heard Jan say something about this) to remove quickly. Yes it'd still be a hassle, but just throwing out another option.

The only thing I can see being a problem with a horizontal tank would be effects of sloshing while cornering. Assuming the pickup would be at the bottom of the tank, if say the tank is half full it'd be easy for all the w/m to move to one side of the tank away from the pickup and you'd be injecting air, setting off failsafes (hopefully, instead of blowing the engine). This would be a good idea otherwise though using the false floor. Maybe if baffles were installed within the tank to prevent this.

Yep...it comes right out.

I still am convinced though that whatever fit in there before you had the tank, will still fit...in some way shape or form. Especially with the seats down.

You don't want a horizontal tank as you get problems with your pick up point. You don't want it to run out of meth when you corner.

Pics of the gauge finally installed...for those that haven't seen it "elsewhere" yet

Still loving everything about this kit...best mod other than a tune that you can do for the R56 .

Looks great! (The gauge, but not the outside temp!)

Can't wait to get mine.

Love the gauge, Thumper! Can't wait to get mine installed and set up. I live in the same temps that you experience so it will be a nice addition to the car.

I assume you are referring to the wire that is for the gauge dimmer?

I didn't connect it to anything...the brightness of the gauge doesn't bother me at night, so I didn't feel like trying to find a wire to tap for it.

@Thumper, thats an invalid excuse! If you've gotten the time to go on the boards you have time to check your valves! Psh, what, didnt you drive the mini over the pacific??

Fantastic looking setup. I've got a water/meth kit going into my GLH as we speak.. and then I've got to retune the bugger on the Dyno. AM now considering a similar setup for my r56.. Dont want any cooked pistons.. even though it rarelys gets above 90 here and we have 94 octane at the pumps Where are you getting the meth?? What sort of mix are you running? How long has a tank lasted so far?

I get it from a petroleum distributor here in Phoenix, they are one of the largest distributors of petroleum products in AZ....you name it, they have it. They sell it in any amount that you want, I buy a 5 gal pail of it.

I run around 75% meth/25% water.

Not really sure how long a full tank lasts, I always top it up. It just depends on how hard you are driving and where you have your threshold set.

Went in with 3 other guys, and bought a 200L drum of meth, and a water distiller. Will be ordering an HFS-3 soon.

I bought a Divine Countertop water distiller off ebay. I live in Australia, so I got it from someone here. It's awesome.

Did you figure the dimmer out yet? It's tricky because I think you have to connect off the lighting control module. I can check my notes from the boost gauge.
