Everybody who has an oiled filter will tell you no and reference the Magnusson Moss Act blah...blah....blah but don't be surprised if you end up needing a new MAF sensor and the dealer won't cover it. The first thing they will look at is the fact that you are using an oiled filter. Oil and hot wire mass air meters don't mix in my experience. Results may vary...

Exactly. Furthermore if you do have an engine problem they are well with in their rights to void the drive train warranty since it technically is a modification to the drive train. Now since it is just a filter many techs or dealers will over look it, but the risk is still there all the same.
No it will not...K&N even states it will not!!!!! My saleswomen also stated that it will not...One more thing do not over oil the K&N, and when you receive it, it should be pre oiled...

This actually happened to me back in 2000 with a brand new Jetta VR6 GLX due to MAF sensor failure(s). For people that state dealerships cannot, you are incorrect. AAMOF, they can do whatever they want and I wasn't up to getting a lawyer that specialized in this sort of litigation so I suppose some of that could have been on me but...I dumped the car and vowed to never own another VAG car as long as I live. If you alter your car in ANY WAY whatsoever, the dealer can deny coverage. Factor in the zero gain of a K&N and I'll glady stick with paper.
The 2011s are k&n drop in filters. You can see the kit on Way Motor Works site. I've got the kit installed on my 2011 and questioned the service dept why I didn't have a cone filter. The kit also comes with a new exhaust manifold...

Is the WMW kit a factory configuration in regards to the K&N? I highly, highly doubt that BMW/MINI is outfitting their cars with K&N filters. WMW may offer a K&N filter in their package but it doesn't come that way from the factory.
I ordered mine through the dealer. Way's is the exact same, but a lower price. I got mine before Way started selling it. So yes, the 2011 JCW Tuning kit uses the k&n panel filter. If any more doubts contact your dealers parts dept.
