Drivetrain Riss Racing Catback Exhaust W/ Downpipe
You won't see any HP increases till you tune the car, but sounds good! Mind asking how much the deal is for?
I say this about the HP because we've dyno'ed stock vs catless dp & exhaust and seen the same power levels. However, tune it and you'll see differences in peak Tq and small increases in HP

OMG please say you didn't buy it!! There is a reason someone is trying to get it out of their garage
I still have their catless DP, which is made very well actually, but the cat-back was the single biggest piece of crap I've ever installed on my MINI. The cat-back barely fit onto the downpipe flange securely (I'm positive it leaked with the OEM flange), the muffler is too small and has a "tuba-like" drone as many others can confirm, and the muffler mounting was way off center on some units.
The worst part about that exhaust was the friggin' annoying amount of drone it had. I'm talking LOUD drone and that was with a resonator in the mid section pipe. This was when I still had a backseat in my car. I had it on my car two days before I demanded a return. I got all my money back and that's when the MINI community revolted against Riss Racing and now you'll see the company is pretty much disintegrated from the amount of ticked off customers. Riss Racing is to be avoided at all costs
I still have their downpipe, but routed to a DDM Works exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler. It's got a hearty sound but the sound but it is not out of control and annoying like the Riss Racing sound. My wife likes driving in my car right now and that's with a stripped boot (no insulation at all from the road) but she couldn't bear driving in the "Riss Mobile" even with a backseat. What does that say?
We're really not trying to dog on your here but we're all here to help each other. Many of us have had our R56's longer than you and we've made good decisions and most importantly learned from the bad. Just ask and we can help
Now, you're going to be the next eBay seller of that exhaust because all you'll hear at night is the sound of the drone forever imbedded in your mind.

Dek, if you got the unit priced low, you can make it work just fine. Riss had some issues with quality of the cat-back systems.
Look for the old threads and you will see what the above posters as blowing on about.
You might find you like it or not, then you can change it out. Just don't pay to much. If it is close to retail back out of the deal.

I'm getting the set for $800, which includes the cat-back exhaust, downpipe, and also is throwing in a straight pipe to get rid of the resonator if I wish. All comes out to a retail of $1600, so I figured if I happen to not like the exhaust, I can still use the downpipe and other parts of the exhaust. I liked how it sounds though, I have to be obnoxious anyway considering i'm the only non-stock mini in town. I like listening to non-stock exhaust, since a lot of aftermarket ones sound stock from the inside.
If I were you I would walk away from this. There are tons of posts and threads on here detailing the many issues NAM members had with the Riss products.

Get an appointment with your local weld shop scheduled because you're going to have a nice leaky exhaust connection at the downpipe to catback union. A lot of us are standing back reminiscing about the many migraines that **** Racing caused us. You my friend are about to walk on a broken path.
Back out then!
Take a search around NAM about downpipes and such. If you're looking to not get a CEL (check engine light), you shouldn't upgrade the downpipe at all unless you're planning on getting an ECU tune, which can be customized to hide downpipe CELs. There are countless exhaust discussions on NAM as well. If you're looking for a deal any hot rod exhaust shop will gladly build a quality system for you with whatever material you desire. Show them the money and they'll build it for you.
Do not be afraid to ask questions on NAM. We're all here to help.

I was looking at the same thing and it looked great. I was second in line for this system and glad I did some searching.
I was thinking the same thing about leaks and that I would probably have to get that thing welded.
