I am thinking that I had the softer spring. Way asked me to try the stiffer one but after talking to others just to go back to OEM. Again, I LOVED this thing on The Dragon, but just out and about I got no advantage and the nah nah nah noise. For the record, now I am running the OEM BoV with Alta spring, DoS intake, and Forge FMIC, NM downpipe, and am loving it.

I am asking a serious question. As I said before I want to get one so I want to know what was wrong with it. When I hear it makes a flutter sound I want to know if it sounds like something I have heard before, like a real BOV or something else, so I can get a good idea what to expect.
I hope that makes it a bit easier for you to understand.

FYI:
Since MY 2010 the hoodscoops don't melt anymore. So you don't really need a heat shield. My tuned 2010 Cooper S has 30.000 miles on it and I haven't had any heat problems at all.

If you want the blue or red springs we will get them for you, but 99% of people aren't going to need them.

Also we do ship to AUS, just we have to get wire transfers for payment.
Will the Forge BOV work on a 2009 Factory JCW clubman?

Thanks.

I think I'm going to try the upgraded spring option first before dropping another ~$200 on a BOV that might not solve my problem of high pressure bleed off over 20 psi. The spring upgrade claims to hold 40 psi w/o leaking so that looks like a better option right now for me as I've already got the a Helix BOV on it.

Correct spring installed

Although I have used the blue spring with my Forge valve without any problems for 7000 miles now, today I decided to install the yellow one to test it. It seemed that with the blue spring the valve was very quite and if I pushed really hard a stalling noise would be heard (like when the turbine axle is forced to decelerate unexpectedly).

From this change I firstly noticed that the blowing sound has come back. I will make further observations and report back.

The spring doesnt hold the valve closed, it is an electronic solenoid. The spring assists in the "closing/sealing" action of the valve
